Alumni Association

Dear Alumni and Friends,

My name is Katie Anderson and for those of you who do not know me, I marched with Chops in 1995 and 1996. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had in my life. This organization gave me many memorable experiences that I will carry with me throughout my lifetime. Chops also gave me many friendships that I will always cherish. When I meet up with old Chops members it is always nice to reminisce about all of the funny and serious moments that we experienced together. Although I could not participate for as many years as I would have liked to, I now have the chance to help out with the Alumni Association and get to know the future members of Chops. I also have the chance to share with you, the fellow Alumni, how to get involved with this organization that has given so much to all of us throughout the years. We are trying to accomplish the start of the Chops Alumni Association and need your help.

There have been many exciting changes within the Chops organization since I, and many of us have marched. Since I have been in Chops they have added a Colorguard, a field show, and have different uniforms for the field show. With all of these new and exciting changes an organization needs help. Like many drum corps, there are many things that are needed for a successful season. This is where we fit in. We need to give all the help and support that we can give. Even if it is just going to a parade and carrying a water jug, helping out with food at a cookout after a parade or even working the souvenir stand at a parade or concert. We especially need help with the Choppin' in the Park Field Show which is Friday, June 25, 2004.

I do realize that everyone is at a different time in his or her life right now. Whether you are finishing school, getting married, or having some future choppers of you own. (hint, hint!) But any help we could get would be greatly appreciated. This not only gives you a chance to be involved but also the chance to get to know the future Choppers of this organization. If you are interested in helping out this season, please fill out the online information form. Even if you can't commit time please fill out the form with your current contact information so we can keep in touch with you. Let us know what you have been up to since you have been with the Chops organization. We would love to hear from you and are excited to get this going!
